I really like this.
I wasn’t expecting much from this. I had used Over tone mask before over some highlights and it looked pretty goodAfter years of dyeing I started getting hair breakage and bad scalp irritation. I am now trying to grow out my hair and stop using box dye. My natural color is ashy with some gray. I used color remover and it turned a horrible orange color.A couple brands of purple shampoo helped a little but caused horrible scalp irritation. This conditioner was a last resort because it is pretty pricey. It was worth it. The orange is gone, toned to a more chocolate/ashy color. Even distribution makes a real difference. It does not cause a build up feeling, smells like peppermint and leaves my hair soft. No scalp irritation. It leaves the gray part of my hair shiny and healthy looking. A patch test is a real thing, do it.

Works amazing!
My hairdresser recommended this to me and it worked AMAZING to help keep up with my color. The only downside is that it can stain your hands- but that’s as to be expected with color products. Kept my hair feeling soft and well worth the price. Would buy again.

Great color, awful smell
The color is beautiful and it is easy to just let it sit in my hair throughout my shower, but the smell is just awful. All day, my hair smells like rotten toothpaste. I don't know how else to describe it. I have a strong sense of smell and I just focus on it all day. If I pull my hair back, it isn't quite as bad.

Natural Redheads Rejoice!
As someone who is in the 1-2% of the world who was born a natural redhead, I'm always wary of hair color products. Most have turn my hair brassy or just don't show up at all. But I decided to try the Overtone Daily Ginger Conditioner, and let me tell you, I'm pleasantly surprised. This isn't a dramatic dye job. It adds a nice, subtle ginger tint that enhances my natural red tones. It's perfect for those who want a little more oomph without going overboard. This conditioner is packed with shea butter and coconut oil, which leaves my hair feeling soft and hydrated. No straw-like texture here! Just like my regular conditioner! No weird mixing or application process. Plus, the fact that it's color-depositing daily means I can control how much ginger I add with each wash. If you're looking for a fiery red mane, this conditioner won't do the trick. It's more for those with existing red tones or wanting a sun-kissed ginger look. I really like the Overtone Daily Ginger Conditioner. It's a great way to add some dimension and vibrancy to my natural red hair, all while keeping it healthy. Plus, the fact that it's vegan and cruelty-free is a major win for me.

This Daily Conditioner made my hair fall out!
Please do not buy this product. I purchased the "daily conditioner" to add some "ginger" color to my hair after having a process done a few weeks before. I am not new to coloring my hair and have used Manic Panic and Arctic Fox as semi-permanent colors, as well as other color depositing conditioners. I also had platinum blonde hair for years which takes a toll on one's hair, but it never fell out. I had recently gone to a natural light brown color and wanted to add some ginger tones. I purchased the "daily conditioner" because I had read the other more semi-permanent ginger condition could turn one's hair orange. The first time I used it I left it on for 2 minutes and had a nice color result. I used it again a week or so later and left it on for 10 minutes. My hair was orange after using the "daily conditioner" the second time and chunks of my hair started to fall out. I have washed it several times since then and it is still orange, the color is not changing. And half of the hair in the lower back of my head has fallen out (see photo). I can no longer wear my hear down and have to pull it back in a tiny ponytail to hide the huge bald patch in the back of my head. I WISH I had NEVER used this product. Please be careful with this, even though it says it is a daily conditioner the color is hard to get out, and worse than that it can cause major hair loss. I am devastated. Here is an update: A week and a half after posting my original review and several weeks after using the daily conditioner, my hair is still orange. I also had to have my hair cut into a "pixie" cut to match all of the breakage in the back of my head. As you can see from the original photo that my hair was shoulder length, now it is about an inch and a half long in the longest parts. Overtone saw my original review and contacted me to offer a refund, which I accepted. When I went to the hair salon to get the "pixie" cut, which I did not want, one of they stylists overheard my story as I told it to my stylist, the other stylist asked what brand of daily color depositing conditioner I used and when I told her she shared a story with me about a client who had used the same product (different color) and came in to have it removed, but she was not able to remove it! She also shared that she had seen postings about Overtone using carpet dye in their conditioners. Anyhow, I hope people will learn from my cautionary tale. Now I have super short hair and had to pay $75 for the short cut that I never wanted!!! Will take 2 years to get back to my previous length. Posting pics of the pixie cut with my face hidden so people will know this is honest and real.Update 1 month later: My hair is still unapologetically orange after using the "daily conditioner" twice 5-7 weeks ago. See updated photo with the purple scarf with pixie cut which I had to do because this product made my shoulder length hair fall out!!! You can also see breakage at the top of my head where there are a few strands standing straight up an inch or so.Please do not use this product, look up The Better Business Bureau reviews for Overtone, the ginger color seems to be the main complaint for their colors, though there are others. I will continue to post hair updates on this sad hair loss journey, thanks to Overtone.
