- Gel Wound Dressing: Composed of soft, calcium alginate fibres shaped as pads (fibrous mats), facilitates Autolytic Debridement. Calcium alginate dressing fibres are derived from calcium from seaweed. The silver wound care is sterile and reduces infection
- Gel Forming Property: The calcium alginate dressing’s release of calcium ions can activate prothrombin and improve haemostasis, calcium alginate dressing has high absorption capacity and strong wet strength
- Maintains a Moist Healing Environment: Silver alginate dressings are highly absorbent and conform to the shape of a wound. When packed in a wound, the alginate interacts with wound exudate to form a soft gel that maintains a moist healing environment
- The Simpurity Silver Alginate dressing has been tested in vitro and found to be effective against bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus faecalis, Streptococcus pyogenes, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae
