ayamaya Mosquito Net Sun Hat with Neck Face Cover for Men Women

I live in central Florida and it's during the July rainy season now. I am in the garden pulling weeds, planting seeds, pruning branches and limbs and cutting hedges most of my time if I'm not in the swamp hunting for pigs and preparing for the fall season. This green Ayamaya Head Net is far superior to the smaller brimmed mosquito mesh hat I previously had. It's larger around the sides which make it tougher for the bugs to get close to your ears and make you think your going to get assaulted. The mesh hangs way farther down to keep leaning over easy to stay protected. I wear a bandana to keep the perspiration from rolling into my eyes and this size hat is perfect for comfort and still stays put even when I'm turning from side to side. Leaning over, the chin strap makes the headcage stay put and when not used is easily wrapped around up top if not using the mesh. I take an extra precaution and spray ALL my outdoor clothing with 10% Permethrin spray and let it dry before I wear it outdoors. ( 'Sawyer' 5% Permethrin by Amazon, how convenient....) This has kept ANY AND ALL bugs from even getting close to my face, neck, or shoulders. Should they be brave enough to land, they usually fly away immediately and die somewhere else. Permethrin spray is easy to find and use. I highly recommend it's use on ALL outdoor clothing. As far as being able to see through the mesh, it depends on how much ambient light you happen to be in. If it's bright out then no problem. The less light, the less visibility...... no brainer.... Best way to see and still be somewhat protected is to let the front mesh hang above the front of the brim on top and let the back drape down around your neck and shoulders. Only the stupid bugs dare coming at you from the front.... Awesome Head Net, whatever color you choose. Of course, I got TWO. I like to PREPARE not repair...

Due to the fact that we live in a river town and have had a lot of rain this season, the gnats have been crazy around !! I ordered these so we could stand to go outside and plant flowers and do the yard work we needed to get done. I'm also onn oxygen so didn't need gnats flying at my eyes, ears nose and mouth. It was wonderful to put them on and go out and work on our flower beds and not get gnats up our nose or in our eyes!! I'd buy them again if I needed to. If you hate bugs flying around your face when planting, fishing or anything outdoors, you need one of these!! Very good purchase for us!!

I do alot of outdoor activities during summer, and this hat is an absolute gold. Mosquitos are vicious in woods/ national park, if you dont go prepared, you end up returning with alot of mosquito bites, most of the time the bug repellent is not enough to save you. i used bug repellent and still came back with few mosquito bites, this hat has a good air flow, and you are able to enjoy your camping, or hiking trip without worrying about bugs flying in your face. well worth it!

Definitely get the green mesh. I read reviews ahead of time and agree that the green mesh didn't disturb visibility much at all. I wore this in the Amazon jungle. It wasn't too bulky or excessively hot to wear. When the mesh is stored, the top is a little bulbous, but if rolled neatly this is minimized. Nothing got through this mesh. I now use it walking my dog on hot humid mosquito days in the midwest and don't know how I ever lived without it.

I like this hat with the bug netting alot. I can sit outside and read! The only warning is that it doesn't fit my husband, his head is average size for a 6 foot tall male I think. But it fits me well, I'm 5'1 and have an average size head. I recommend and will buy another for my camper.

The hat fits well and the black netting is easy to see through. I live right next to a lake in Florida so the mosquitoes are horrendous. This hat makes it easy to spend time outdoors with my dogs and gardening.I love the fact there is an adjustable neck strap which helps tremendously on breezy days.

I bought two of these to wear when hubby and I go fishing and the bugs are bad. It works really well. It keeps the bugs off our faces.

I bought this hat because the another brand I purchased via Amazon came damaged out of the box and has a hole in the netting. This is my back up. The netting on this hat is finer quality. The hat material has a thinner feel to it and has a shorter brim diameter. Net is sewed on to the brim and there is no way to tuck the netting out of sight except to roll it up on top of the brim for a very chic Victorian milliner look.
